I went back and looked at the pics again and it looks pretty rusted up for a 2015? I wonder if it was previously damaged and a repair was attempted? It might just be the part of the country you are in. Im in SLC Utah with a 2015 EVO and there is no t a single rust blemish on it. I may be reading into it too much.

Tell Lippert to come and fix it themselves if they don't like the estimate, it is wholly their responsibility after all, it is under warranty.

With all due respect, making threats to call in an attorney will most likely grind everything to a screeching halt. Most companies are instructed by their legal departments to not proceed with any work until their department is contacted. Now you know what happens when the situation becomes attorney vs. attorney. A whole lot of nothing and a lot of money. Save the attorney option for a last ditch effort when all else has failed. And you don't have to offer threats either. Just do it and plan to spend a lot of money while you're at it.

If this is a brand new unit, I would demand a completely new unit. If that don't happen, get an attorney. This just should not happen!!

Yes they make lots of frames that don't fail so fixing the ODD one should be no problem. Also it is their responsibility to correct it.

Can you borrow a trailer on which you can haul it ? It really is their problem BUT those of us who have had a problem with a mfr or dealer know it's his (yours / our ) problem ! I would not handle this thru the dealer . I would contact Forest River direct . Time and again on these forums they have shown a willingness to take care of problems . Sometimes the opposite is true . Why not give FR a chance to step up ? Get the dealer out of the picture . My 3 cents ! Good Luck !! Farmer Jim

Cracked Frame Update

Update on Trailer Frame Cracks

Good Mourning Everyone....

Just thought I would let you all know, that after 3 and a half weeks of trying to get my Wildwood 26bxl fixed, Lippert has finaly agreed to do the repairs. I did get it approved through the dealer, i did not contact Lippert or F/R directly, that would have been the next step. Im still not happy with the fact I had to fight for over 3 weeks to get this done, on a new trailer no less. What disturbs me more, is dealers that push the extended warranties, so what, I can put up with this crap longer? No, I didn't get one. I hope we can all enjoy our holidays, and all of you can do the same. See you all down the road.

cracked tow frame on x-lite.... saga continues....

Trailer has been repaired by the Welder, as per directed by my dealer. Welder sent invoice to dealer, and was told i had to pay for it, and would be reimbersed for the work... We all know how that would work out. Dealer never told me to pay the $3500 repair bill, and i would be reimbersed, i would have taken my trailer back, if that was the case. reguardless, unit is fixed, and is solid. I will be sending Lippert, and Forest River, emails about what I have gone through, and what I think about there warranty process. I purchased a new trailer so I wouldn't be out any repair expenses, isn't that what a warranty is for?

Trailer 3 months
Down 2 months
Used 6 days

At the minimum, you need to get that in writing so you can hold their feet to the fire if you need to. Sorry for what you're going through. This should not happen.

As Ive learned over the years with companies. you got an agreement?...get it in writing. your trailer frame is a "through deck" design. Turbs pic was a "deck over". For whats its worth, the deck over is more trouble free. In these days of lighter materials, a through deck is risky IMO, especially with WD hitches. Sorry for all your issues...

This is why in some cases, I prefer email communications rather than "phone conversation"
Although, starting via phone s good so you get a live body and don't have someone blow off your email and say "I never got it".

I hear so many horror stories about LCI (Lippert Components Inc) and their frame failures.
