Talking Customizing my Camper

My Wildwood 185RB was just the basic camper with a few extras like spare tire and mount, TV antenna with booster, and stabilizer jacks.

I am a do it yourself country boy that grew up on a farm where we built and repaired everything! I worked in construction for 38 years as an adult. That being said I get great enjoyment out of fixing things....LOL even when they are not broken. Sometimes things can be made better with a little TLC and know how.

So over the last week I have been improving on our new camper. I built a bicycle rack for the back. A Honey wagon rack on the tongue. Added the Flipway foot to the tongue jack. Installed the Vortex II fan kit in our bathroom roof vent, which didn't have a fan. Relocated the fire extinguisher. Made a prop to hold the door up on the storage area under the bed. Made socket for my cordless drill to use on the jack stands. And today ordered an exterior cable jack so I can hook up to cable at the rv parks without having to feed the cable through a window. Talk about fun! We haven't even used it yet!

Can you explain how you installed the vortex fan? I want to do the same but have no idea where to get the power from. I'm not a construction guy, so my mechanical skills are about a 5 out of 10.

Get your power from the nearby light.

bbrider, you should be ashamed of yourself for making mods to a new camper. My motto is "keep it stock".

What he said. I just pulled the wires from the light over and spliced into those for the power. Easy Peazy.

campers, Harley's, Jeeps, etc, etc, all those in the stock form is like a blank canvas to an artist. It is just the starting point and with a little inspiration and know how you make it your own.
