Disappointment in grey tank specs/capacity

Just picked up my Heritage glen 372rd. Specs show a 60 gallon grey tank capacity. I had looked forward to 3-5 day stays without full hookup and having plenty of tank space to shower.

During the walk through of the unit I noticed two grey tank pull handles and it clearly has two grey tanks. I have sent in a question to the factory for clarification but assume it has two 30 gallon tanks.

I am scared one is the kitchen sink and the other is the bathroom and that they are not connected. you clearly use more grey water in a shower then a kitchen sink.

I wish a spec sheet was more detailed and showed full detail. It's not the end of the world but depending how someone camps and uses the unit it does matter.

If there are two grey pull handles and if both tanks are connected at the sewer hookup, you can probably keep the black tank closed, open the two greys, and have a single tank. But if they each are plumbed to a different sewer connection, then you're out of luck. You MIGHT get lucky and have a 20 gal galley tank and a 40 gal grey, rather than two 30 gal tanks. But I'd guess what your assumption is probably more likely.

Number, size, and location of tanks is something I check for when buying or "visiting" at the RV show. But tough to do with enclosed underbellies.

I would not of thought of that. all three come out the same exit point. I'll have the check the location of the black tank shut off valve. It it is last in line that may work. Thanks.

If i dont hear from the factor I'll start dumping 5 gallon buckets of water to measure i guess.

Usually all three tank valves should have a direct shot to the sewer connection. There shouldn't be any "in line" or "last in line" with the others. In other words, they should all be in parallel to the final sewer connection.

I just meant I dont want a mess when I pull the cap off. Need one last something holding everything back if I want to try and open the grey tanks and see if they will back fill each other for more capacity out of the shower tank.

I was basing it on mine which is the Hemisphere 282RK TT. I have two smaller gray tanks, one being dedicated solely to the galley sink and outdoor kitchen. It also has its own discharge port, so I need a Y connection for two hoses to the sewer inlet.

You guys are full of great ideas.

I ordered my backup camera, a tv dvd combo for the bedroom that will also go outise and a memory foam matress topper to make the bed more comfortable. Moved all the stuff from my last unit over to the new.

Just waiting to get off call next weekend so I can get out for the first time.

Supposed to be warm (upper 40's low 50's) but wet next weekend. I'm sure your weather will be the same as ours is. I'm near Adrian in Lenawee County.

Kalamazoo. Probably go to fort custer the 31st till the 2nd or so and rewinterize when done. 10 day forecast showed 50's during the day and 40's at night. Get to test out furnace and fireplace.

Headed your way in June for the Nascar race.

After testing the furnace on ours, since we were hooked up to shore power, we plugged in a 1500 watt heater and used that for most of the heat we needed. I set the furnace thermostat to a few degrees cooler than our normal night temp in case the electric didn't keep up. I never noticed the furnace kicking on overnight. Still use the furnace to get the rig up to temp after setting up camp though. I suspect your fireplace will be able to do the same!

Didn't know there was camping there, been by there many times. I stay away from MIS on race weekends, however, in the past, I've made some good jack pulling 'campers' out of the mud in the infield parking area. Have a friend with a couple FWA farm tractors and we 'tag team' pulling stuck RV'ers out for a fee of course.

If it rains and it turns to goo (which it usually does), you'll probably see me there in a green tractor.

People around here stay away from MIS. Bad Ju-Ju.

On my Blue Ridge the grey valve under the screw cap is for the bathroom and washer, the one in the compartment by the black valve is for the kitchen, if you have a washing machine you need to leave that one open or you will fill that tank very fast and a mess can occur.

Keep a 5 gallon pail handy and use it to put out your campfire. It's just shower water and won't hurt anything. When we used to camp in a tent or tent trailer many years ago, dish water just went in the bush.

And these days is most likely "illegal" (whether it makes any sense or not).
