Emergency Egress Window

I recently bought a new Heritage Glen TT and on my 1st trip out, the egress window in the bedroom somehow popped open. I was able to pull over and catch it in time to avoid breaking, but now it won't shut tightly. It is the type with the long bar that locks parallel to the window when closed, and you remove red end from plastic latch and open window by pushing bar outward.

I am quite a way from the nearest dealer. Any suggestions on how to repair myself?

Thanks very much!

I would start by checking to ensure its lined up properly side to side. Check the seals aren't banged up, is the arm straight? It's a pretty simple design , not a lot that can wrong with it.

I am not near the trailer right now (off site storage), but I don't believe is a side to side issue. I can pull the bar inward enough to snug the window, but then I am about 3/4" too far in to latch the bar. I can push back a bit and latch, but then the window is about 3/4" open and I know next trip down the road the wind will catch it and force open again.

I have to confess that I keep the trailer stored in a storage unit and it has low lighting, but when I looked initially.....something is wrong and I am too dumb to see it right off. Could be something very simple, I just don't see it.

Thanks for the response.

Window

I dont think the red plastic end is supposed to come off.. there is a lip on the bottom of the red end that holds the window open

Red end is still attached. Bar looks straight. Latch also looks good. But keep in mind I am from KY, so type slow. thanks
