Factory Quality For a T21RBS
I purchased a new 2014 T21RBS from a dealer in Garden Grove Calif. After the excitement wore away, discovered found several defects which should have been caught at the factory quality control area. I'm posting this to see if the quality control my unit received is normal for Forest River, or did I get the unit the quality control staff used for training.
First, the decal on the right said "LDWOOD". Why didn't the selling dealer catch this also? It was replaced two months after I took delivery.
Second, the control panel on the stove was delivered with a 2" length by .5" deep dent. It was replaced at the same time as the decal.
Third, the dinette table has a huge chip in the border laminate. There is also a defect under the table which snags clothing when one slide across the cushions to stand up. Now waiting for that to get replaced.
Fourth, the valance over the kitchen sink was installed with a 1" slant to the right. Looks as if installer was leaning to the right or couldn't see a level.
Fifth, the vent hood over the stove looks to be installed with a strange angle. When you look at it from the front, it appears to be deformed.
Sixth, the trim on top of the shower enclosure constantly pops up after several hours of road transit. This causes the top shower-door seal to not align correctly and spray does seep over the door.
And last (for now), there are at least 10 whacks (gouges) in the wall covering in the bathroom that was hastily repaired but they missed a big one over the stove.
Please tell me, am I expecting too much and too critical of the Forest River quality control. Some of the defects were corrected by the selling dealer, after leaving the unit with them for at least 8 weeks which cut into my pleasure time.
