First problem

This is the first thing that went wrong. I have a 27RKSS with a galley grey tank. The line that runs from the galley tank to the grey dump developed a hole. The problem is the line runs very close to the front spring shackle on the rear wheel. The bolt rubbed a hole in the line. Not a big hole , but enough to leak. The fix I think is to glue some schedule 40 pvc to cover the hole. and prevent further rubbing. I guess I could have this repaired by the dealer under warranty but that would involve a 100 mile round trip and who knows how much time. I will just patch it for now.

A patch can work but fixing it correctly would be a long term solution. With that said, I can understand about the 100 mile trip and time factor being involved. Keep in mind about time frames during peak season.

A pvc patch if done properly will be permanent. Make sure you remove the cause for the hole.

Did the patch but haven't checked it. Weather has delayed the check.. The schedule 40 pvc should be thick enough to prevent further holes. If not I will need to do something else. Thanks for the replies.

Peak season repairs is really a consideration. We took our RV in last Saturday with 8 issues. (For us it's a 180 mile round trip.) I fully expected to not get it back for at least a month.

DH got the call yesterday. It's ready to pick up.

DH had to work today, and we're in the middle of a tornado warning all day, so we're leaving her there for a while.

I had no idea how much off-season affects the time factor regarding warranty work. We took 'er in for one issue back in July and it took over a month to get 'er back.

The PVC patch held, but the cracked pipe by the valves by the main gray tank didn't. Called Dealer and scheduled warranty work to replace gray drain line. Will take it in next week for a one day repair.

Last trip, backing TT in drive, wife yelled whoa and couldn't stop before tt hit the house, Called ins. co and will be getting estimates for the damage to the TT, No damage to the house.

Ouch! My wife and I use a $20 pair of FRS radios (very small walkie-talkies) when I am backing up in a tricky area or in the dark. It's a great way to protect your rig, and also keep everybody safe. Get em at Target, Walmart, etc.

We found the radios also save us from screaming at each other

Sorry to hear of that Steve, hopefully the damage is not too bad.

We just use our cell phones when I am backing into a tight area or something is behind me, wife calls me, I leave my phone on center console in speaker mode and she just talks me back, do not have to push a button to talk or hold it against my ear, no yelling, no lag, etc.

I do have the walkies, but haven't used them in a long time. Have cells also, maybe I'll try that next time.

TT is now at dealers awaiting ins approval. Don't know the cost as yet, but my part for that will be $500 for the deductible. I could change the deductible to $ 100, but I don't know if I can afford the premiums.

If you had Bluetooth, it would be even easier, but I don't :-(

DH and I use our iphones. His is sync'd into his truck's radio, so it's hands free for him while he's doing the backing/parking.

(We both have our iphones sync'd into our radios in our respective vehicles, don't know what I'd do without that feature, even programmed mine to auto-answer after two rings.)

I feel safer(to a degree) when wearing a BT when driving or if I am riding with someone who is wearing a BT.

We use our phones and BT a bunch.
