First trip question 27RKSS

I might have not paid enough attention when picking up trailer or an I missing something.
We are on our first trip today!!! Turned on the water heater on panel over TV, switch lit up and DSI FLT lit for a few seconds and has went out. Been on a couple hours and no hot water. What am I missing?

Second, when we first brought trailer home and had it hooked up to 15 amp, it used the propane heat and it warmed allot faster. When I turned thermostat to furnace on 30 amp, it was heating using the AC unit. Is this normal?

As always, appreciate all your help!

Are the water heater bypass valves set to summer position? Try setting the Fan to 'Auto' on your thermostat.

DSI FLT stands for Direct Spark Ignition Fault
When you activate the DSI, the water heater attempts to light the propane burner. If it doesn't light right away it may show the fault light. However, it will re-attempt to light until the switch is turned off. If the propane does light the fault light will go out.
You need to check a couple things:
1. Are you attempting to use electric to heat? If so, you need to be on shore power, and there must be water in the tank. If you turn on the electric element with no water in the tank it will burn out the element and you will need to replace it.
2. Is the electric heater element switch turned on? This is normally an ON/OFF switch located on the front panel of the water heater itself.
3. Is the propane turned on? Check by lighting a stove burner.
4. If you open the propane tank valve too quickly, it has an internal safety that will shut off the flow of propane. Close the valve, give it a minute to reset, then open slowly.

I have the same trailer. Congrats!

Ditto on the electric switch for the hot water heater. I keep my breaker off to it to be safe. 1 second to burnout if no water in tank. You can use both elec and gas and it will heat that water very quickly if you needed to. When camping though I run elec since I'm paying for it already and save my gas. I never turn on the red switch.
