Question Fluid Level lights for tanks

Anyone else out there have their tank level light read that they have fluid in them even when you know they are empty? My black water tank always read 2/3 full even though I know its not.

Have you tried using a black tank flush wand you may have some toilet paper caught on one of the sensors

You no doubt have "klingons" on your sensors.

Everyone has that problem. You should consider capacitive tank-level sensing. See this: https://tankedge.com or this: http://www.rvgauge.com. NUWA is/was using the second of these and I was very impressed. The first is available from Camping World.

You can use the existing wiring for these.

You should use the black tank flusher every dump and rinse 'til the discharge is clear...you'll need a clear elbow on the sewer connection. Try the Geo Method of adding water, detergent and water softener to the empty tank. Here's a link... https://sites.google.com/site/cbruni/

While in use, the black tank monitoring may still not be accurate as the probes are easily fouled, but you'll soon figure out the number of days camping before it requires emptying. With a TT you can is the level in the tank through the toilet...with a 5th wheel, it may not be a straight drop into the tank.
