Fold Down rear storage rack.

I have a 2011 Wildwood 26tbss that has a Metal fold down storage rack that is attatched to the rear bumper. I cannot find the weight capacity in the owners manual. Does anyone have this rack and know the weight capacity of it?

Thanks

Hey Bilcin,

We have the 2012 Wildwood 26bh and the decal on the rack states a capacity of 200lbs. Hope this helps.

Hi Everyone,

I just picked up my 2012 Wildwood 26BHXL last week and am interested in getting a flip down rear storage rack (eg cargo carrier) for it since it didn't come with one.

I have the standard 4" bumper on the back (in which my spare tire is mounted).

I have seen other sites that have 2" receivers that you can essentially bolt on to the 4" bumpers, and then get a cargo carrier for a 2" receiver.

I'm basically looking to put my 2 Yamaha EF2000is generators on there (about 100 lbs total), and if there's any way to squeeze some bicycles on, that would be a dream.

Is this safe? I haven't seen anyone talk about if the back bumpers on the Wildwood can even support this.

Thanks in advance!

You might want to read this thread: Rear Bumper Strength

If your Wildwood did not come with the OEM fold down rack, I doubt very seriously that your bumper is reinforced enough to take the weight of 2 genertors, when other members here are having failures with just carrying a bike.
