Fresh water tank vent caulked shut

Just noticed this on my brand new wildwood on the fresh water tank fill. The vent is caulked shut. Is this normal. I plan on filling tomorrow for this coming weekend trip. Click image for larger version

Is there a hose hooked up to the vent? If not then it is caulked because it is not used

I haven't tried looking behind it yet to see if there is a hose hooked up. If there isn't, where would the tank vent?

Back through the fill port which would work but not well. I've seen a few like that on here where there was not a vent hose

Mine hangs down by the low point drains. If you look under trailer and you ave pvc hose just hanging and not capped off that is where it will vent and overflow when full

Yep, that is how mine came. The vent by the fill was caulked over as it wasn't used and the actual vent/overfill tube was routed out the bottom of the rig close to the fresh tank drain.

I've never seen one like that, but my old trailer had direct vent lines from each of two 50 gal tanks making the vent rather moot.

Our early 2017 TH has two tanks. They supposedly vent the rear one to the front one and the front one up to where yours is covered. If the bottom is open crawl under and check it out.

Now that's a good idea. Sad mine was not done like that.

At least yours is right side up. My vent was caulked closed too. My fill port was installed upside down.
