I'd appreciate advice abt buying 2011 Wildwood X-Lite 22RB

We're thinking about buying a 2011 Wildwood X-Lite 22RB we found at a local dealership. I've done a lot of research but cannot find a lot of info about this particular model as to possible problems or a reasonable amount of money to pay for it. I'd appreciate any comments that might help us make a good decision. Thanks.

I did a NADA RV Book value and find Avg Retail: $7450 & low retail $6200. Huge range and much different than asking price.
I have seen the 22RB but usually with an extension (of some sort) and I've seen 2010 models. Would the 2010 be the same/identical to the 2011? My problem is I really like the one we're looking at and don't want to be an impulse buyer.

NADA values for RVs are worse than useless. They are traps for the uninitiated. They seem to use a straight line depreciation method that bears no relationship to market value. For example my last motorhome had a NADA value of about $90k. The market value was low to mid sixties - in mint condition. The unit you are looking at was probably purchased for not much more than their asking price - and perhaps less. E.g., my last two travel trailers were purchase for around 70% plus or minus a little of MSRP. My advice is to keep looking. There are lots of travel trailers with floor plans similar to the one you like in this unit. Good Luck!

Well, I am the uninitiated ... and was wondering what a reasonable market value would be and (therefore, maybe) what offer they'd actually accept, as the salesman kept mentioning they had 'wiggle room' and on Craigslist the dealer mentioned 'OBO'. Made me nervous as I wondered if they were trying to dump a lemon.
I have seen complaints about electrical, plumbing, etc. on some models, but I know someone having problems is more likely to post comments than ones who are happy.
So I guess my ultimate question would be, if it is in good shape, what would be a fair offer? You mentioned NADA listed yours for 90k and if I'm reading your post right, you got it for somewhere in the 60s. Quite a difference! Thank you for your post!

I would think that you could almost get a new one for their asking price, your probably looking in the 8-9 thousand range for a 2011. Definitely shop around. Good luck!

My other thought was that it might actually be a late-model 2010, but couldn't find any brochures for that year. Also didn't see any floorplans in these brochures with a pantry between the fridge and stove.

So now I'm wondering, "What is it REALLY?"

what you didn't notice is that this is in Washington State and RV prices, both new and used, are higher out on the West Coast. especially compared to Midwest prices.
this is probably a good price for out here.

you can usually add another 15-25% out here over what it would sell elsewhere. RV dealers out here know that since 90% of RV's are made in the Midwest, they can charge inflated prices since very few will drive that far to save money.
i speak from experience, having made a 4000 mile round trip for our HTT. but we saved over $4500, even after trip costs.

regionally, RV prices vary quite a bit.

Hmmm. Good points! The other thing I'm curious about is the printout the salesman gave me gave a VIN of 136960 and I can't find that anywhere ... am asked for more digits. Thanks for your comments, all of you. Informative! Also, I've noticed they are built in two different locations: IN and CALIF

We are trading it in the spring for something larger and would sell it to you for less than the price of that one even though it's newer. It's been a good problem free trailer. Our askin price is in canadian dollars and since the US dollar is higher right now it would be a deal for you. Other than I assume you are not close by. We are on the border of Michigan.

You are correct I didn't see the location till after I posted. I am in Cincinnati, Ohio which seems to be the RV Wholesaler part of the country!! We are only about 4 hours from Goshen / Elkhart which is the RV capital.

as far as i know, very few are built in Calif., compared to how many are built in Indiana.
Talk to Nick at Blade Chevy, he's a good guy and should be able to help you.

In the pictures you can see a taller pantry next to the stove and also drawers below the entry door wardrobe. There is a TV shelf by the entry door is listed on the floor plan.

It doesn't have the pantry between the stove and fridge, so it matches the floor plan that JCO has been looking at on the Blade RV website, but it doesn't match the pics of the trailer on the Blade RV website that he's been looking at.

So again, I have to wonder: what is the trailer that Blade RV is REALLY selling, because the floor plan they are showing doesn't match the pics of the trailer he's claiming to have.

22RB, 22RBXL, 221RBXL, etc... I can see where an error could be made by someone with limited experience. The ad might be in error for the correct model brand/number/year, floor plan and/or photos.

Ask for a pic of the sticker with the model information. It should be on the outside of the TT and also inside the entry door jam.

No, don't know anything about Blade but I know Nick personally.

May I suggest that any trailer you look at look at the roof even if it
only a year or two old. You are looking at a 2011 trailer, 4 years old,
you nor the sale's person knows how the previous good of upkeep
they did. A dealer should have some type of a lift if there is not a
ladder on the back of the trailer. Depending on how long your trailer
is a new roof could cost you 3 or 4K or more if you have more than
roof problems from a leaky roof

Great to know. If he's a good guy I'm sure he follows through where he's working. I hope I don't sound paranoid, but I've been blindsided before and maybe have become extra cautious when buying stuff.
