I had an old Jayco 1208 popup with a little fridge. Guy who "gave" it to me said he thought the fridge worked a few years before. After numerous attempts with the right power sources, nothing. Got on another site and a fellow told me to take it out after disconnecting it. Turn it upside down and shake the hell out of it. Let it set for 24 hours. Turn it back over and shake it some more, let it set for another 24 hours. Plug it back in a viola it worked for ever!!

I haven't been following the whole thing but here is something to try. On the control board , you will see two connectors on the left side of the board. Unplug the lower connector with just two wires. Leave it unplugged for six hours. This bypasses the thermistor and runs the unit at full power. The thermistor is the white clip on the fins inside the refrigerator and acts as the thermostat. If it comes loose from the fin it malfunctions also and the higher up the fin the cooler it works.

Yes you are correct that you need to have special equipment but most dealers do not even know how to repair rv refrigerators. If you call this fellow Roger at (RV Absorption Refrigerator Reconditioning Training Center) he will help you and can fix and REBUILD any rv fridge. He can even refill you system if that is all it needs.
So if anyone want to save money and aggravation with rv fridges call these guys they will help you out and save you money.
