I sent an email to several FR personnel. Surprisingly I got a reply from Nancy Nigh and she forwarded my email and pics to their warranty guy. Here is the email I sent:
I and other Wildwood owners have had a consistent problem with water
getting in to the slide. I have attached a photo of the problem area.
The black "matting" material on the bottom of the slide wraps up and
over the flooring and goes inside the slide (between the wood and the
carpet). When it rains this material acts as a sponge! I had to
purchase a wet/dry vac and routinely would suck up 2-3 gallons of water
after a long, hard rain.
Right after I bought my 2005 Wildwood LE 29RGSS (used) from Bayou
Outdoor Center in Shreveport, La in April 2008 it started doing this.
Bayou came out twice and completely caulked every crease and joint on
the slide. It did not rain for a while so I never knew if it worked.
Well, I am now in Iowa and it has rained a lot lately....and it did not
work. Now I figured out the problem and simply covered the black
matting material with duct tape and plastic.
I just thought you should know about this design flaw. Other than
this....I'm a "full-timer" and I love my RV!
