Mods: anyone know what is in space above refrigerator and beneath wardrobe in bathroom

I'm on a quest to utilize all available space for easy access storage. Anyone know what is above the fridge? There is a panel above that I'm dying to just punch out. I could put a basket up there with dish towels, etc if it is solid empty space inside. There is a similar panel next to the toilet and under the wardrobe that would be just right for a dirty clothes basket. Anyone been brave enough to knock that panel out? I have a 2011 wildwood 23FBS.

above refrigerator

Above most model refrigerators you will find dummie cabinets. You can utilize the area but must box in the area from the outside wall inwards about six inches. The area is above the cooling unit and needs to be clear ALL THE WAY to the roof vent for the refrigerator. Air must pass over the tubing and cooling fins on the back of the refrigerator from the access panel on the outside wall behind the refr. up and through the roof vent. The better the aero dynamic shape of the area , the better the refig. will cool.

My 2016 RKSS has a cabinet above the fridg and a drawer below. It looks like they decided to make the "dead" space available.

We did do it, thanks to my super-talented brother-in-law. We removed the panel above fridge, framed it out leaving approximately 12" open space behind for fridge to vent to roof. Removed panel below wardrobe in bathroom, rerouted vent pipe for black water holding tank, framed base support for 1/4" plywood base, covered base with vinyl flooring to protect against laundry moisture, built PVC frame, sewed laundry bag from painter's drop cloth. Very happy with our outcome. I tried to post pictures in order, but they resorted themselves. We also built a pantry next to the fridge so I'll try to load that one another day.

there is insulation...
is is meant to lay on the top of refrig or was it supposed to be against the frig vent?
