If you have Concertone oem receiver tv has nothing to do with surround sound. It only provides the picture. Surround sound is provided via dvd disk that you play thru the receiver if dvd has surround sound encoding. Radio function will normally only provide stereo sound as most tv signals.
Some digital broadcasts are in 5 channel and not sure if concertone will provide it.

You can get surround sound from the TV as well if you have L&R stero "audio outputs" on your TV. Route those wires to an unsued set of inputs on your Convertone.

The surround sound from the built in DVD player in the Concertone comes out the Concertone's speakers and not the TV. Mute the TV's volume and switch the video input on the TV to the "composite" (Yellow) single RCA jack from the Concertone.

LOL

You worried me.

Yes, you can get surround sound if your TV will output audio. In fact, even if you only have an optical audio output, I understand Concertone is making a converter for their units to make that a reality.
