New 262BHXL

Hello everyone, my family has been in the market of buying a travel trailer for the last 2 years. After tent camping and using a pop-up we finally stepped up to the big league and purchased a 2015 262BHXL from Fun Town RV. We took delivery of it on Friday afternoon and so far love it. Unfortunately we were not able to get out anywhere for Memorial Day, our first trip is this coming weekend.

We are first time travel trailer owners and I have been doing my research on stuff but figured I would ask this forum for some additional tips/tricks.

So far we have purchased, upgraded sewer hose, additional water hoses, pressure regulator and 90 elbow as well as a surge protector. I also purchased the x chocks. We have started setting up the interior with the command strip stuff to prevent having to drill into anything until we figure out exactly how we want everything set up.

I am curious if anyone has added the LED strip lights to the awning or underbelly. I wanted to permanently add them to the awing and at least the entry steps and figured I could tie into the wiring for the electric awning. Any thoughts on this?

Thanks,

There are a few threads in here on this. I have the led strips, but I just plug mine in when I set up at the campsite.

My wife and I just purchased a 2014 x lite 235bh and pick it up on Saturday I know how you feel. I have tented a lot in the last ten years and my wife hates it. But I did end up bonding with my dog a lot , as the wife would not come along. Now we are changing the game.
She won't be easy to get rid of. Lmao. Just kidding. I'm sure we will have a blast, just as you are going to. This is our first also.

We just upgraded from a truck tent to the 2014 Wildwood xlite 185br. We had one night out last month and will leave for a four day music festival next week. It's been fun thinking about decorating and "playing house".

laurarice29. My wife Debbie can't wait. We pick ours up Saturday. And the end of June we are going to British Columbia. A week of the mountains. Family reunion and some we time. But I will do a weekend before then to feel the TT out. Debbie has stuff already in mind for our adventure.

We finally made the maidan voyage at cleburne state park. Everything went great, still need to get a couple more things for the camper and work on organizing it.

I do have a question about dry storing, what condition do I need to leave the black tank? After I dump at the park should I fill it partially and drop in a packet or leave it empty?

Thanks

After dumping...add about 5 gals of water and one packet to take care of your black tank odors while it's stored
