Newb klaxon!
Assuming you've read past the alert above, I've been lurking for months. I try to get some info before I post. I think I've gathered my thoughts coherently.
We (my family) have begun our negotiations with General RV here in the Detroit area. We are looking to buy a Heritage Glen 368RLBH. But, predictably, I've become a but overwhelmed with the process.
My chief concern is 'the warm wind blowing in from Minicoy' in the form of my salesman. I get it, he keeps the lights on by selling. But, I've seen such a very wide variation in pricing so as to cause a tactical pause in my thought process. This is based upon months of looking at many online sales websites for this model. I was careful to exclude cost swings due to geography. I usually kept my searches within 100 miles.
I do believe that the salesman is not pushing bad info or product, but some concern is arising regarding the cost; it's a concern for most. I'm not talking about just a few bucks, but more than 30% difference in list price.
-Realistically, can I expect similar sales prices within a given reasonable driving ranges?
-What sort of canards should I expect the sales staff to use in order to keep the sale price higher?
-Is purchasing with cash actually an advantage?
-For What up-charges should I keep my eyes
