PDI done and on the way home

PDI done and the new camper is home!

It was quite the adventure.

I live about 300 yards off of the road (gravel drive) - you have to go down a slope, across a creek (there's an earthen bridge with pipe to allow the water to flow) around and up a relatively steep hill (steep enough that with the trailer in tow, I needed 4wd)...

Definitely going to have to widen my gravel road.

Tonight I think I'll see about installing the EMS. There's a spot in the basement for the main unit, not sure where I want to install the remote display yet. A lot will be determined by how hard it will be to route the data cable.

I can't decide if I want the display relatively close to the hookup (viewable from the hookup) or inside next to the other controls on the wall for the slides and such.

In it's home on top of the hill by the shed -
You can see my deuce in the background and my goofy boy up on the roof.
He was kind enough to climb up there and check for limb damage (I'm going to have to get after the county about trimming up the trees on the roads in and out of my place.)

Nice looking rig.
Glad you got it home safe.
Five slides... nice!

Do you have a slider hitch?
It may be the angle in the photo but it doesn't appear to have much room for turning sharply.

Congrats on the new rig.....it's a beauty.

As far as the EMS....I installed my display where I can easily see it inside the rig....and an easy run for the display. The reason being, that if yours is like mine, there's a delay while it analyzes the electrical supply. If everything is good, then is passes the electric feed to the rig. Then, when we spend most of our time inside for meals, relaxing, sleeping etc, we can keep an eye on the park's supply as other campers fire up microwaves, heaters, coffee makers.....

When/if the load gets too high or low, we can anticipate if there will be any interruptions of electricity before it comes as a complete surprise.

Since you are a fan of the Duece and a half. You may want to check these out. They are still in service with the Frisco Volunteer Department on Hatteras Island. When ya gotta get it to the beach !

Looks like mine without the goofy boy! You're going to enjoy a lot. Had to widen my driveway entrance too. What kind of ems did you get?

Thanks for the responses everyone!

It's just a four slider. But I'm really happy with it!

I do have a slider (16k Husky roller). The angle on the pic is deceptive, there's quite a lot of room. I will have to get that camper severely cattywompus to have need of the slider. But better to have it and not need it...

Those m35a3s are pretty nice! Nicer brakes but no multifuel engine. They not only have tpms, but one that will automatically inflate the tires if one goes low (military calls it CTIS). Most people I know who've used these trucks hate CTIS and rip it out unless they are doing a restoration. Apparently it's more likely to blow a hose and leave you with all flat tires rather than do any good. Lots of these old trucks still in use by fire departments and such.

I ended up buying the "Progressive Industries EMS-HW50C Portable Electrical Management System - 50 Amp" with the remote LCD display. Though I don't know why they call it portable.. It has to be mounted in the camper.

Wife is in 7th heaven buying all kinds of stuff to go in the camper before our trip coming up in June. Happy wife happy life!

If you want on the water and sound will work over the Atlantic, Frisco Woods CG is fantastic! If you want the noise, neon, traffic the Atlantic side of OBX.
