Pop up mattress was more comfortable than ttt...replacement suggestions?

Bought a 230bhxl tt with the short queen Murphy bed. The mattress hurts both our backs even with a topper. Our previous pop up had the thin mattresses that most pop ups have so why were they so much more comfortable? It makes no sense. What have others replaced your mattresses with and how were the results?

We put a sealy 4" topper and that fixed our issues. I've read many get a foam mattress from Costco or similar.. You can realy get what you want assuming you are able to get a short queen or fit a full queen. Bed questions to me are way to subjective. I use the rv queen with a sealy topper in the rv and a sleep number at home.

We did the same as doc73 and it was good for a good long time.

We ultimately bought a Sleep Number bed, but that was after we went fulltime and could justify the cost.

Try Casper’s new line of mattresses, linens and pillows

We put a 4 inch topper. Still same problem. Probably looking to replace. Will look into Casper. Also mattress insider I guess.

Was also wondering if putting some support under mattress like a thin piece of plywood if bed would still close would help

I used the thin mattress that came with my A-Frame for about 150 nights before it became uncomfortable from sag. I replaced it with a 6" memory foam that is much more comfortable.

Sleep Number Bed is just wonderful. We have them on all the beds in our house and yanked our short queen out of our Bullet travel trailer when we traded for our new 2019 Rockwood 2606 ... left the new Serta mattress in the Bullet for the next people and happily took our Sleep Number bed for the 2606.

Mattress

We went to a freight liquidator in Stuart, Fl after suffering with the factory mattress for several months. We got a 10" mattress for about $300.00 and it was worth every penny. We just ordered a new T/T and will be swapping out the mattresses when we take delivery.
Our ProPride hitch will be coming with us as well.

We had a relatively thin mattress from factory, but liked the support the firmness gave. So, added just a 2 inch memory foam and that works for us. Soft-ish, no pain in the morning from a thin mattress.

IMHO you can't go wrong with a good quality hi density foam mattress.

Foolishly, we left our Parklane Explorer short queen in the 5th wheel when we sold it. What were we thinking??? Just received our NEW Parklane which fits perfectly on the Murphy bed in our Flagstaff MicroLite 21DS. Sleeps like our bed at home. Check it out! Made in the USA!

we purchased a Short Queen 8" mattress from Overstock.com. We have been very happy with it. It sleeps just like our much more expensive mattress at home.

I put a standard queen size air mattress under our camper mattress which makes it far more comfy. The only issue is that it makes the bed about a foot higher and my wife, who is pretty short, has to now jump into bed.
