Raising her up
My 32' long WildWood trailer, when level with my Expedition, only sits several inches off the ground.
Backing it up (before the bearings went out, in another thread), can scrape the rear wheels (I have no idea what they're called), and going over uneven roads can also cause it to hit the rear wheels.
I'm tempted to take it to our local RV service place and see about having it raised up about 6". Is that advisable? Possible? Any idea what it might cost?

Yes, it's got a hitch / sway / torsion bars. Still pretty low riding. I'd say that ground clearance is only about 8" or so.

When the trailer is on the TV are both level. Is the nose of the TT higher then the back. Can you post pictures of your setup. It would help to see what the problem is and how it could the fixed.

Wildwoods are not usually low sitting trailers I suspect you have a serious out of level situation. Sounds like you need a different shank length on your hitch.

on my last tt had the same problem wore the skid plates on tt off. put the wheels on the back helped out alot till I got the trailer on the hitch and skid wheels only then I said enough had my dealer reverse the axles fixed the problem for me. TT still rode level. TT higher hitch goes higher. Not saying make it a 4x4 but some TT need to go up.

Look under the trailer where the springs are attached to the spring hangers. Is there more holes in the hangers? If yes, then it is a simple matter of moving the springs and all other parts to the lowest set of holes. This trick alone will give you several more inches. However, now you will need to readjust all of your hitch equipment to get it hitched level with your TV.

I had a similar issue with a previous trailer we owned. It kept bottoming out in the rear just by going up or down a sloping driveway. I then had the dealer flip the axles and that fixed the problem, raised the trailer up several inches....

Also.... lift kits are available - but I would make sure everything else is OK before installing.
