I have found that a rear camera on the back of my 5th wheel is Very Handy.
Mine is not a hard wired one, in fact I used it on my 26 ft 5th wheel then had to add 10 ft of line for my Wild Cat.
It is wireless and the sender is in the box (under the bed rail) of my pick up. I wired it so when I turn on my parking lights it powers the camera....all the running lights come on then as well.
I am sure my camera is not as clear view as you unit is. Mine is of lesser quality with a very small lens and no night vision. But I know when some one is there
I have it mounted about 4 ft off the ground on the rear ladder rung. This gives me a good view when backing up, especially at the CG, opens up blind spots.
I use it mostly for watching out for traffic behind my rig on the highways.
With the 7 inch colour screen I have a good view at a glance. It is mounted to my review mirror while towing... as the mirror is 3/4 covered by the camera I adjust the mirror so I can watch the TailAir 5th hitch... working going down the road. I made a plexi-glass hanger with Velcro on it for easy mount and take down.
I really love knowing what is behind my rig and gives me confidence befoe making any turns or lane changes.
I envy those nice camera units like yours especially the addition of 'side cameras' would be a nice addition.
