Ridgeway Sport ST Tires?
Anyone have any first hand experience with Ridgeway Sport ST 205/75 14inch bias tires? I just bought a new Wildwood TT and those are the tires. The Date of Manuf of the tires is early March 2015, they have about 200 miles on them. My wife and I will be taking a 6 week 4000 mile trip in the next few weeks and I debating with myself about upgrading to Maxxis tires before we leave or gamble with whats on there.
Thanks

Yep just pulled them off our Rockwood 8329SS. We had 3000 miles on them. They did ok no problems though. I decided not to press my luck and went with Maxxis. Mine were 15" load C tires. Replaced them with load D. I had one tire that know was overloaded but due to design of RV. Can't get the extra weight off that tire.

Rather than Maxxis, look at the Kumho 857 or the Hankook RA08; both are true 8 ply, load range D, and 99 mph speed rated

If they say "Made in China" or "Made in the PRC", I would bite the bullet and replace them now. Sure, you might slide by and put a few months on them, but if you are at or near your max weight on the trailer, you are begging for trouble. Not sure what your options are with 14" wheels. Good Luck.

I appreciate everyone's response. I have searched in vain for the Kumho 857 tires and that's why I was going with the Maxxis. Where do you find the Kumhos for sale?
My trailer is a Wildwood 201BHXL and came with 14 inch wheels so the options are few. If I found a 15 innch wheel with the same lug pattern can I upgrade to a 15 inch wheel? There is plenty of room between the wheels.
Thanks

Ambrose,
I was thinking about upsizing my tires (same Ridgeway as yours). Mine seemed to have plenty of room between tires also. I contacted FR and was told by the engineers that my 230BHXL was made for the 14" tire size only and not to upsize. You might check with them also.

This tire is the same size as the Kumho 14" trailer tires.

Thanks for the additional response. Sebourn, did Forest River say what the problem would be with going to a 15 inch wheel? Airdale, that is the first place I have seen selling the Kumho 857 tire. Have you had any experience with Simple Tire.
Thanks

Ambrose,
The response was "Unfortunately my engineers tell me that we cannot put 15 inch tires on the Xlite, as they are designed for the 14” only." So, don't know exactly but would guess clearance above or to the frame could be the problem.

I am sure its because the axle is over the suspension instead of under. I will be looking at getting this resolved by doing an Axle flip. i dont understand why this isnt done at the factory. my trailer sits very low to the ground.
