Roof membrane pulled up during trip

Anyone have trouble with their roof membrane pulling up during driving? Looked like a balloon was attached to the roof driving through South Dakota last week.

I went through the roof after winter storage. No cuts or weak/missing caulking. Looks like the crosswind was creating a lift scenario and the adhesive was weak and pulled up in front of the antenna; even rippled the top leading panel. Noticed all the way down the roof rails that it had pulled up.

not enough glue...seen it before. that or the talc on the rubber not wiped down before rubber applied to roof. should be a warranty item...

I'm hoping it's a warranty item but the trailer is 14 months old.... I asked the dealer to submit as a roof replacement since I'm worried it stretched the material out. Waiting on Forest River's response. Dealer says it could be 3-4 weeks.

there have been some late comers to still acquire. work with the dealer and FR to see what can be done. i guess it is not mandated that dealers inform you of the program.

I had a similar roof balloon and fixed it myself for cheap. I was well out of warranty so that wasn't an option. This is the link to my fix: http://www.forestriverforums.com/for...lem-65169.html
I believe its been over a year, well over 6000mls and all is good.

You could also try your insurance, could have been a "tree limb" that started the issue.

Good Luck

Same thing happened to my 195bh Salem Cruise Lite. Roof looked like a balloon going down the highway.

Similar thing happened to me after 5 months new. Dealer said send pictures, did, then they said I hadn't done the 6 month pm to check and seal caulking. I'd only had it for 5 months. Btw, caulking was fine, roof had pulled away from the roof vent, They still denied claim, fixed myself after 3 or 4 months going back and forth with the factory. Pass on the 2 year warranty, waste of money,

Two year warranty
Is a MUST not a waste. We had several FR claims in the second year and FR honored them all.

well, after 3 months of dealing with this (trailer at dealership, waiting to be repaired), got the TT back last weekend. FR did honor the warranty work. Dealership replaced entire roof and a component of the roof substructure up front. Hope it lasts more than one year this time.
