Screw trim cover cracked

Has any one had any issue with the screw trim on the front two corners cracking? This is on a wildwood x lite 261BH. I will post pic later today.

X2, Here is a tip. Pull any screw that looks a little rusted, fill the hole with sealant and reinsert a new screw. Install new vinyl screw cover. Also, place the roll in sun to make it more pliable.

What can be done to help prevent this? Is there a treatment that can be used?

screw cover

Look carefully at the trim before you buy, some is made in China and is very thin. It will dry and crack very quickly. I will just keep the roll around and replace the trim as it dries out. As it is not really rubber, I don't know that there is anything you can treat it with to protect it.
