Suburban water heater won't ignite

Any Ideas? Turn the switch on. Igniter wont click. Fault light illuminates. Gas valve is working. I manually light it. It initially lights for a few seconds and then shuts off. We have been using this heater for less than 10 days "camping" this is a 2017 model we just bought.

Might have to let air bleed out. Give it a couple of opportunities

sounds like you have a faulty ignitor which is also part of your flame proving circuit, thus the unit lights with a match and goes out right away because there is no flame sensing. I'm not familiar with a fault light could you explain

So the igniter itself could be bad? Im away from home. Dont have my multimeter with me to check continuity. So manually lighting it wont work with a bad igniter?

The fault light above the switch comes on if it fails to light.

If his is like mine SeaDog, it's a small red led on the switch when you turn it on the red light shows you that it is igniting, once it lites off the red led go's off. Then your rocker switch just is blue showing you its on....

Why not go through all the detailed troubleshooting steps in the Suburban install manual?
