Trading a Fifth Wheel for Smaller Trailer??

There is a big possibility that my work is going to relocate me to Pocatello Idaho from Austin Texas. My family of 4 have been living in a 2017 356QB fifth wheel full time on a family members 50 acres which we have loved!!!!

When/if we end up moving to Idaho we will not need the giant fifth wheel anymore as we will be buying a house there. But I can't live without a travel trailer now.

I am thinking about maybe trading in the 356QB for a smaller bumper pull so we can explore Idaho, Utah, Wyoming, and Montana throughout the year.

I have two questions?
1.) How can I find out how much my trailer is worth?
2.) Is trading in my current trailer for a smaller one doable?

I have no idea, but seriously jealous, I wish my work would transfer me out west, I would LOVE to be able to explore the west, north west!

The wife and I are very excited. The kids have really taken a liking to the property we are on and being with the cousins, but I think once they get out there they will have a blast

So why do you need to get rid of the 5th wheel. It's a great way to travel also unless you do not have a proper TV. Later RJD

Question 1): Look on RV trader.com. Find other units that are similar to yours. That will give you a good idea.
Question 2): Yes, it's do-able. I hear that the fiver market is up, so you should get a decent trade for it because it's not likely to sit on their lit for long. But, you'll get more cash out of it if you sell it yourself. Which could take awhile, if you have the time. A trade would be much quicker. You decision.

NADA.com will tell you. It has a section for recreational vehicles.

In my experience at the dealership, customers could trade bigger for smaller easily if they would realize that just because it is bigger it is not automatically worth more than the smaller one. Keep in mind the year and value of the smaller one when looking, most dealers don't like to trade even, they always want some cash.

When using NADA, many use it incorrectly.

You don't add value for things that are standard, like a fridge, a/c, water heater or furnace. You can if it's an upgrade, like
a residential fridge for a RV fridge.

Nor do you add value for "forced" options, like manufacturer packages that combine multiple items that you get whether you want or not.

Only true options can be added value.

I could be mistaken, but, I believe it tells you that on the website.

Yea, but a lot of people don't read the instructions.
