Trailer Brakes

I need to check out my brakes this weekend before I take off Sunday, anythings I should be looking for.. What is required to change the brakes, I have no problem doing the brakes on my trucks and jeep but have never done a trailer. What does a new set of brakes run.

That's all they are, drum brakes. The only real difference is that instead of a hydraulic cylinder pushing them out to the drum, a lever with a magnet does it. Just be sure to inspect the face of the magnets while you have them apart to ensure they're not worn down to the windings.
