TV antenna - Satellite

I just bought a new Wildwood 2010 TT and have 2 questions. (1) Is the installed TV antenna that came with it capable of receiving HD over the air broadcasts or do I have to replace it with a special HD antenna and (2) is the roof capable of supporting an installed satellite antenna or would I be best to use a portable (removable) one such as the Winegard Carryout Portable Satellite Antenna or something similiar?

I can't answer number 1 but as of question 2, yes it will support a roof mount satellite antenna. If you have satellite service at home then my suggestion would be to remove the crank up TV antenna and install a crank up or automatic (depending on how fancy you want to go) dish and utilize the existing coax. I have always found the crank up TV antennas on RVs to be, as the saying goes, "worthless as tits on a boar". But then again we camp in areas that don't have good TV reception anyway so the dish is awesome.

Adony,
I just picked up my Wildwood Lodge about 4 weeks ago. It is actually a 2011 but most likely has the same antenna. It does receive HD via the antenna. Make sure you turn the "boost" on. It took me three weeks to find the switch. It was behind the bedroom door!

I have a 2008 XLR Toy Hauler and the installed Antenna located on the roof is capable for HD Television (provided that you enable the Signal Booster).

At the same time I've also bought a Winegard Carryout Portable Satellite as opposed to purchasing a permanently fixed roof Dome Satellite. Reason: If you've parked at a tree shaded area, there's a chance that the permanently fixed roof Dome Satellite may not be able to locate a signal (happened to me many times when we camped at some of the Ontario Provincial Parks and Canada National Parks); whereby the Portable Satellite can be moved to a location where it can pick up a signal in a clear area.
