Wink TV Mount on Wall

I have a 2016 261BHXL, and want to install a TV bracket on wall behind the dinette.

Is there anyone that has installed a TV bracket? I have a 22" flat panel TV that I want to hang on the wall. It is a fixed bracket, not a swivel.

Also, do you know if the studs are metal or wood inside the wall?

Hi azdesert.... I mounted my 32" today. What I did, was cut a piece of 3/4" plywood, 5" x 6". I screwed this to the wall in the dinette. If you look where the bunk bed frame is for the top bunk, it runs through the wall of the dinenette. I guessed that it is 2" wide.... My bracket was 5" high so I screwed the plywood so it was centered along the bunk frame, 4, 3" screws. My TV is 32" and the "V" mount I bought holds it no problem. I'm pretty sure that you could mount a 36" TV this way with no problems. Of course I take it down for travel, but this seems to be the easiest and most secure way I found. I will paint it brown to match. If you want a picture of the bracket install let me know.

Same question as I have

I am mounting a flat screen TV bracket in the bedroom of a Windjammer and have the same question basically. The area had a sticker on it telling me this is where to mount the TV, but I don't see anything that tells me what type fasteners to use. The wall has something very solid behind the paneling, plywood I suspect, so I am thinking a course thread wood screw? Or should I use a molly type insert or plastic tap in insert with a screw? I would really rather not open the door to find the TV on the floor Anyone have a suggestion? Oh, on this forum I know there are suggestions, but one's that have worked successfully!

D B Travelers, I mounted a 24" flat panel in the front bedroom of our Crusader 296BHS using course wood screws to mount the bracket. I know its not the best thing but we leave the tv mounted more than we take it down and have not had any trouble. There was a sticker on the wall saying mount tv here.

Traveling with the TV

I have a call into the Service Manager at a local RV dealership asking which fastener to use. I'll post it as soon as I get an answer. Mike - The TV is a 23" flat screen and I purposefully bought a mount that locks back against the wall so I don't have to remove it each time. The swivel goes back and locks the TV in a centered position so I think it will be okay. the TV will stay in the TT from now on, and I really don't want to have to take it off and put it back as we travel this summer. The 32" in the living room stays mounted and it is just on a french cleat (of sorts). I may just try the course screws and keep an eye on it. Thanks everyone for the feedback.

In my TT, there are no stickers on wall stating to mount here. I am waiting for acris60 to send a picture of what he/she did with the plywood for making the mount more stable.

AZ. Push on the wall. You can feel the supports inside.

Thanks mike.t. I did push on the wall, and it seemed to be a vertical stud square in the middle. But, am not sure. I used a stud finder, and didn't show that there was something there. I just don't want to drill holes in wrong places. Very paranoid. I am going to mount the TV mount tomorrow, and go by the best, (in my opinion) way to do it in this forum.

I just spoke with the service department people and they said the Rockwood had a 3/4" plywood backer in the wall and to use 1 1/2" wood screws for the TV mount. They said that was what they used when they installed a TV mount. Do use decent wood screws, not the black drywall screws that will shear off easily.

I saw that one when i was shopping around, and it looks very sturdy. But mine is going to stay in one spot anyway, so the swing arm type was better for me. Camping World Master Mount Locking Master Mount Locking Cantilever Mount, Small - McNaughton 94139 - TV Accessories - Camping World, I think they are on sale right now for about $50.

I used this TV mount in my 2016 261BHXL and it has worked well. I mounted right where the sticker was on the wall with the screws that were provided with this mounting kit.

Thanks for your help. It is nice to find someone with the same model TT as I have. My problem was that there was no sticker where the TV mount should be placed. I went ahead and mounted the same bracket as you had shown on Amazon a couple of weeks ago. Took a trip with the trailer to Sedona, AZ for 5 days, and the TV mount worked great.
Where do you live? I am in Mesa, AZ.

We are in Montgomery, AL. I just installed another TV by the cable jack in the front bed area. I found out that that wall doesn't have the same support as the one by the table. I had to mount close to the edge so I could lock it into the support board on the wall.
