Two trips down...
So I have two trips under my belt with the 2010 18xlbh. The first one was the first time I ever towed anything with my Jeep. Of course, we hit a bad head wind on the way down. But it towed exceptionally well, considering.
It was quite windy in Ohio that weekend, and one big gust took out the awning arm clips at the top. Not sure how to fix those. Only other thing is the two ceiling lights and outdoor lights don't work. Tried new bulbs and new fuses but no luck. Any ideas?
Last weekend was perfect and only an hour away. At times, it just doesn't feel like I'm towing. Incredible for a 6 cylinder 2004 Grand Cherokee. First time using air and did it work fast! Very thankful to escape the heat, and so were the dogs. The awning held up great as we reinforced it with some pinch clips just to be safe. The crate setup for the dogs works perfectly with the sofa removed too. But, I fear the soft spot inside the door is getting bigger. Shop couldn't find a leak source so have no idea what's going on.
Next week, we venture to the Michigan Upper Peninsula for 6 days, with a stop over at the Bridge. It will be the longest trip so far. Right now, I'm absolutely loving the convenience and comfort of the trailer...
I feel more and more comfortable with each trip, and have even managed to hitch it up and back it into my turnaround all by myself. Woo-hoo!
