Water gauge not working

We have a new 2015 Wildwood that we just purchased and when we did the inspection the potable tank gauge was not working correctly. Only shows 1 light instead of 4 when full. The dealer said he has had a few that did that but after bumping down the road a few miles they usually start working. So we trusted and drove home about 70 miles.

Went to fill the tank last night to be ready for our first weekend and the gauge still isn't working.

Does anyone have any suggestions about what I can do to fix it? Or do I need to go back to the dealer to resolve it? I'm pretty handy so if it could be a quick fix I would much rather do that than have to haul it an hour away.

Thanks

Since it's new and still under warranty I'd take it to the dealer to have them take a look. Hopefully it's just something in the gauge panel, perhaps a loose wire.

If my case the connection for the whole panel was erratic, sometimes working sometimes not, so I removed the cover and checked the connections.

Hopefully your problem isn't with the sensors on the tank.

My 2014 has black and grey sensor problems. Only the full light won't work when the tanks are clearly full, I was standing in water in my shower. My dealer said it is common for them to be erratic. Erratic I can see, mine have never worked during the 6 trips we have taken. So....I did some research and found out that basically the liquid in the tank makes the connection between the sensors. That being said...if you look on the side of the tank, you will see one ( the negative side) sensor. On the other side you will see 3 more at different heights...1/3, 2/3, and full. These are the positive side of the circuit. Empty the tank, take a piece of wire and jump the negative one to each one of the other 3 one at a time, while having someone inside verifying that the lights light up. If they do, then I would say all is good from the sensor up to the panel. Which only leaves one other part.....the sensor in the tank.

All that being said....it should be covered under warranty. I just wanted to spead up the diag process and hopefully get my unit back faster.

Update, dealer said it wasn't a warranty issue and to empty it at 2/3.

Dealer installed a new "full" sensor about 2 inches lower from the old "full" sensor. They said there is an air pocket around my top sendors.....

Take it back if it is new. You can try to put a bag of ice in the tank or Gil half way with water and soap drive around to slosh the sensors are probably dirty

There was nothing in the tank. It has never worked since day one. It is back home now and when the weather breaks, I'll fill it with clean water and see if the black and grey read full
