There is a lot left open with that question. Is the trailer in good shape ?? Does it fit your needs ?? Is your tow vehicle enough to tow it safely ?? Give us some info.

As mtnguy said, what is your tow vehicle and what is it capable of towing. that is the million dollar question, do not buy what you can not safely tow.

Also buying from a dealer or private sale?

-If a dealer ask around about the dealer at a local RV parks and anyone you can find that has done business with them. You want a respected dealer.

-If private consider paying an RV serviceman a couple hours to go over it. It may save you a lot more cash later.

Make sure you personally inspect the roof and look over the entire rig very carefully for any sign of leaks. If it hasn't been maintained properly and you find evidence of even small leaks that could be a sign of hidden water damage. Not to mention that the previous owner didn't take care of it. Get a flashlight and look under all the cabinets, especially at the front and back where the end cap seals can fail. Also look carefully around the skylight if it has one as this is a common area for leakage.

If you do find evidence of water intrusion, but you are just in love with this rig and think you can live with it, use that information as a point of leverage with the seller. At least make them replace or re-seal the roof or no deal.

You didn't mention where you are from. Use your nose, what does it smell like when you first enter, damp, mildewy? That could give you your first clue.
