Will be gettin my first 5th wheel next week and have a question

I am getting the Heritage Glen 356qbq. I need to have a 5th wheel plate/hitch installed and was wondering if anyone has recommendations of what to install? I will have the short box on a F-250. Money is not a real concern. I want something that I can install and uninstall easy and give me the best ride and handling possible. TIA Tommy

Install/uninstall easily- my money is on the B&W turnoverball and companion hitch. If you want to go the slider route, you can get their slider. It's a manual slider but it weighs in a ton less than the Pullrite Superglide (automatic slider hitch).

If you get the Pullrite, look at engine hoists so that you're not moving the hitch by hand.

Does your Ford have the factory 5th wheel mounts?

I'm partial to the Pullrite Superglide for my short bed pickup because I like not having to worry about hitting the truck if I have to make a sharp turn since it has the auto-slide feature. Probably don't need the slider with today's front caps on the trailers, but better safe than sorry.

But like ependydad said, it's not light. So a hoist, winch, young back, or tractor will be your best friend in getting it out.

Had a pullrite superglide and loved it. It's the only one I would use. You have to install a capture plate on the 5er though. Once installed your 5er can only be towed with the superglide. I think they make an adaptor plate so it can be towed with an ordinary 5er hitch for service or breakdown. Just something to be aware of.

If you want an autoslider...PullRite Superglide Hitch

If you want a fixed hitch...B&W Companion Hitch

Welcome to the 356qbq family! B&W are good, although I use a Curt q20. No complaints. I believe they make a slider version too. Post up some pics when you get it.
