Brake controller with a 21vfb

I am pulling my 21vfb with my 2006 toyota tundra, I was looking at electronic brake controllers and was wondering if anyone is using them with the 21vfb. I was wondering if a brake controller was necessary. I was thinking it would be a good idea but figured I'd ask.. Thanks

brake controllers are required by law, if the trailer has electric brakes, which nearly all travel trailers have.

so, unless your Tundra has an integrated brake controller, which i don't think it does, you have to have one.

Did you have any luck finding a brake controller, they are not to difficult to find. Any truck accessory store or RV dealer will be able to help you.

Lonestar I am going to try and look tomorrow.... I did some reading and I think I have figured out how to install it, seems pretty cut and dry. I just need to figure out which one to get and see if they have the cable that attaches to the back of the unit and the wiring harness on the truck

Thanks Dalford, I found exactly what I needed on line and go it ordered. I did a little more research and figured out how to install it. Already went you to the truck and found the hidden plug.... That seems like the hardest part. This forum is great. I'm learning a lot, having the knowledge I gained from here makes me a lot less nervous about hauling my new toy this weekend!

Your welcome! If you run into any issues, do not hesitate to call eTrailer. They have great phone customer support and can be very helpful. I think their reps attended the Chick-fil-A school of friendly customer service.
