i'd like to get the new hydraulic door closer, instead of the cheap L-shaped door latch. it mounts at the top of the door and is like a shock on the hatch of a car.

i have an '07 Roo 23SS.

OMG no. My factory installed piston closer has DESTROYED my door. They are so over pressured that they warp the top of the door against the frame. After two years my door is so out of plumb my deadbolt won't go in any more. I will ship you mine FREE when I get some idea how to secure my door when open.

herk7769, Maybe they sould think about making a stronger door or an adjustable piston, the adjustable piston would be ideal.

How many do you have on your door, just one at the top?

Mine worked loose since they only put 2 screws into it. I added 2 screws and used an adhesive to glue the bracket to the door...seems to be holding up pretty well.

The pistons are rated by lbs of force, it would have been nice if they figured out the lightest closer for the application instead of going with the metal twisting model.

Just the one at the top. After about 6 months, the screws pulled out from the frame of the door. The dealer put in longer screws. They also "adusted" the door hinges with a 2x4 and a mallet so the dead bolt would work.

Then after the warranty was up the screws pulled loose from the door. I drilled through the door and put long bolts through the door. Now the closer is perfect and it is ripping the hinges off the frame and the dead bolt no longer works at all. They must have an 80 pound piston in there. It will yank you right off the steps if you don't watch it.

How about you call FR and see when the "fix" for the concertone ZX700 jumping video on the TV will be available?

Supposedly they have the fix sitting on the shelf and just haven't decidedg what to do with it....
