2004 Flagstaff 26DS - No power from the battery

Hi everyone,

I just bought a used 2004 Flagstaff 26DS trailer home and I cannot get any power from the battery to the control/distribution panel. I checked the battery it is OK and I cleaned the terminals without success. Any idea what to look for to make it work? There is got to be a fuse/switch somewhere.... I can't find it!

If anybody would have a wiring diagram of this trailer, it would be much appreciated.

Do you have a volt meter ($5 at Harbor Freight or Radio Shack). Check that you have a good ground and then check for power at fuses under the fridge in the "fuse box"

Do you KNOW there is juice in the battery??
IF it was left in storage for even a few weeks with the battery
connected, it is most likely totally dead.
FYI most trailers will slowly drain the battery completely dead if
it is left connected. This can happen in a month or less.
The LP gas detector and even the built in power center/charger itself will
do this unless the battery is disconnected.

IMO all trailers should have a battery switch in a convenient place.

IF the battery has power you can try looking underneath and see if you
can follow the battery leads as they head back towards the center of
the trailer.
It's possible there is a battery fuse under there.
I wish I could be more specific but battery fuses are often not put in the
most logical places.
Trailer wiring diagrams are often non-existent. It's often a seek and find operation.

As stated by Wolfgang, you need a meter or some sort of 12v tester.

Underneath the frame near the tongue, there is a relay with a reset button. Follow the battery hot (+) wire- should be red, but not always the case. You'll see a junction block or distribution block mounted to the frame, and then check all the connections for good contact. My 08 Flagstaff had corrosion on the wires, and therefore no batt. power unless hooked up and plugged in to my truck. The junction block also has a reset button on it. Hope this post helps you! Randy
