2011 Flagstaff 30WFKSS V-Lite Upgrades/Additions

I noticed on our last camping trip that there were bulbs burned out in the globe fixture above the dinette. This fixture has three of the 194 bulbs in it and when I replaced two of them they still did not work. I took the fixture down to find the wiring pressed against the fixture and burned. This is not good. It looks like there never was a wire nut added on the one side, just twisted the wires together and screwed the fixture into place. I know it is just 12Volts but still this could have been a dangerous situation. If you have these globe lights in your coach it may be worth a few minutes to unscrew the fixture and check that the factory has wire nuts on both sides of the circuit.

I just checked my other globe light that is over the couch and it appears to have two wire nuts, I guess someone just got in a hurry on the one over the dinette and missed crimping a wire nut on the one side. I am just lucky it did not cause any damage.

Hey BK,

How is your storage box you mounted on your rear bumper working out? I was thinking about doing the same thing, but worried that the bumper won't support the box and twist the bumper when bouncing while running down the road.

See page 4 of this Thread post #30. It shows the details. I used U channel and T nuts with large Square bolts. The shallow box I have works well for storing all of my hoses, electrical etc. I have not had any problems with it twisting or bouncing going down the road. I suppose you could overload a box and have issues but what I use it for works well.

Showing my stupidity---mounted a TV in bedroom. Went outside to find that my drill holes punctured through the outside wall, one leaving a complete hole. Now what? Sure thought I was being cautious...

Back the bolts out, cut them off-re-install. Cut a small alum plate, polish it and use double sided tape to put it over the caulked holes.

Or find some small plastic buttons and glue over the holes.
