It can be fixed, but it will never be 'right'. Ask the insurance company to total it.

Glad your process is continuing. From our experience it is a much quicker and satisfactory process for a total than a repair. Hang in there and have fun RV shopping!

Probably a blessing in disguise, I know someone who ended up with more money from insurance company than paid for thier trailer and they were able to upgrade. Good luck!

It is best to close the door on this chapter of this camper and move on to the next. Totaled is 'totaled'. If you still have access to your camper, strip as much stuff off of it that you can reasonably use for your next unit, as the insurance company will sell it as salvage (pennies on the dollar). If there is a spare tire, remove it. Propane tanks.... I would.... light bulbs????
It is your unit until it is gone and almost everything is fair game of what you paid 'extra' for and will not get back in a 'total salvage'. If you have a couple of old junk 20lb grill tanks that you want to get rid of, put them on.

(My wife works for an insurance company and this is sometimes common)

Well it's been a long time since July 29th but I wanted to give a quick update. We weren't sure even if we were ready to go thru this whole process again but after much debate we did. we are picking up our new trailer on Saturday....went with an Airstream basecamp. (Not forest river)Very exited. I appreciate all the help you gave us along the way. Thanks!! I guess we will have to move to a new forum..

Wow, that seems like quite a down size from the 21DS.

You don't need to leave the forum. We have a lot of SOB's here (Some Other Brand).
