21FBRS Slide Question

I just purchased a used 2017 21FBRS. I notice that the slide, while in the closed position, does not quite flush up against the trailer wall. There is about a 1/4 inch gap. However, there appears to be some type of rubber weather stripping that is there. I am not sure if it is preventing the slide from closing totally flush...or if it is actually working correctly. Any thoughts?

That's how my 2018 21FBRS is. I think it's the gasket forming the seal.

Thanks, that is a relief. It did not appear to be leaking so I hoped it was designed that way.
