Nice idea about electric heat...would definitely need electric upgrade or maybe 20amp socket installed to take advantage of those sites offering both receptacles ....

So I returned our trailer to the dealer to have the AC inspected. It's a Coleman mach3. They told me it was drawing too many amps and wasn't cooling at all. It will be replaced under warranty. I will need to take it out for a quick run to ensure its working as we will be in Carlsbad soon and it's over 100 there currently.

Has anyone noticed any cracks in your frames. I was under our 27RLWS today, and noticed that 3 of the braces that attach the floor to the frame have very small cracks forming at the bottom of where they are welded to the frame. We have 18,000 miles on the trailer, and have been up the ALCAN, so I suppose one would see something. I am going to have them welded to fix it. Let me know if anyone has seen this.

Has anyone traveled with full fresh water tank in this model? I am planning a 3 hour trip and need to fill tank here at home as no water avail at destination. I have read of structure support damage in other model Flagstaff's when doing this. Anybody have experience with this in 27rlws? Thanks.

Unless your traveling 3 hours in the wilderness I would stop close to where we were camping to take on water. That is a lot of weight to travel with.

I carry only one third of a tank to compensate for the light tongue weight.

Although we really don't boondock we only keep about 1 gallon in the black water holding tank to slosh around in there. I figure the less stress on the tanks the better off the TT would hold up. At 8 lbs per gallon that weight would add unnecessary stress.

Thanks for replying. There is a campground within 30 minutes so I guess that would be the conservative thing to do. Get water and then dump later for a fee. Would rather use home water but I'm sure your right about the stress on these things. I know on this Forum people have reported bent tank supports.

I would even pick up a few five gallon fresh water tanks for the bed of the pickup also. We transport a 150 gallon water tank to the races to fill our campers while inside the track. We stop at a local storage area a mile from track to fill it. He charges us a few bucks every year to fill it but it's worth it so we don't have to transport 1,200 lbs of water.

I was born just north of Toronto. Can't fool me. Lol. Go Leafs!!!
A gallon of fresh water weighs 8.34 pounds. A guess it's a little more than 8#. Salt water weighs more but who wants to carry salt water.

Ah yes. I forgot about those. But since you all went metric, the Imperial gallon disappeared. The first time I drove up there many years ago I about keeled over with the price of gas and it wasn't even a gallon. Now I'm used to it but wow. Need to visit my buddies again to get my "Eh" fix. I have been living in the states now for a long time.

We've had our Flagstaff for just over a year now and have several trips completed. We have never had a problem with carrying the fresh water tank filled up. We too would prefer to have our own water, and travel about 3.5 hours to our campsite. With our previous TT we did the same thing. Never a problem in 13 years with that one.

We have had condensation issues before in the Wardrobe slide and also the overhead cabinets when everything is closed up for a few days. We usually open the bathroom vent to expel the moisture.

Yep, I will confirm that carrying a full tank was no problem. Can't see above the belly sheeting to see if anything is bowed but the sheeting looks the same . I just decided finding a campground to fill up and dump would be too time consuming so I went for it. It towed fine also. Thanks for the info.

I posted under the Electrical thread how the progressive suge protector wouldn't let a Generac 2000watt generator power trailer on this trip. The voltage would be pulled down too far before generator could react. I could only use it as a battery charger. I took it back and will try Honda 3000watt next year.

2 years and no issues requiring trip back to dealer yet, however got one more camping trip to go this year. This has been a great trailer and floorplan.

I'm no expert, but why would you need the surge protector when running your generator, unless of course it's hard wired in?

Just finished reading this entire thread. Within the month, we wil be purchasing a used 2013 flagstaff or 2014 rockwood. Really like this floor plan, as we are coming from a bunkhouse model.
What fuses should I stock up on? Blowing a fuse seems to be a common occurrence.
