Just returned from our PDI on a 2015 Rockwood 2703ws, which is a clone of the 27rlws. Of course there were several issues that should be corrected when we pick it up on Sept 11th, two days before our shake down trip to Rainbow Springs SP, Florida. On the plus side the rear windows now open and no more air mattress under the sofa, the sofa back doubles as the pillows on the Metropolitan version. It is very comfortable. It seems that the rear bumper is much more substantial than before and it appears that the frame was extended beyond the rear of the trailer. Weight of the unit is 6467 lbs. I suppose the added weight could be the beefier frame and bumper. I wish I had taken a photo of the rear bumper. Can anyone take a photo of the 2014 or 2013 rear bumper. Maybe someone from Forest River can add a comment to this post. I will post a photo of it when we pick up on Thursday.

27RLWS

Congratulations on your purchase and we wish you the best camping has to offer. I would be a little skeptical about the frame having "beefed" up. Doesn't seem likely on a super lite so I wouldn't plan on adding anything to the rear bumper.

I will probably put the bikes on the front of the truck anyway. This unit is already pretty heavy behind the axles.

Congrats on your purchase.

I take it the bumper has changed. As stated in an earlier post we are looking to order one for spring deliver but I took a pic of a 2015 on the lot.
And the back windows open on this one.

But the mattress was an air mattress. So what was the conclusion on these. My wife does not wnat the air mattress. The dealer seemed to think thats the way they come now.

Hello Canadian Crew

Earlier 2015 models came with the air mattress. We ordered the Rockwood clone 2703ws because of the leather like sofa and the Hickory wood, Metropolitan interior (shades of black and grey). It seems they are making changes to these units on the fly. Can't find the battery disconnect that was under the closet in the bathroom on earlier models. Salesman could not find it either. I recommend doing a thorough PDI. There is a lot to these tt's today. If you have a Rockwood dealer nearby check them out. I was surprised that the weight is now 6467 lbs. Most I've seen were 6311 lbs.

I prefer a good air matress to a three-segment fold out sofa on which you will feel the segments. I have a Tempurpedic at home and I like a firm flat bed - one plane. The main bed in our trailer with 1.5" topper and the air mattress both provide this.

That's my conclusion ...

When we set ours up with the power stabalizing jacks and x chocks ours seams very stabil. Recently was caught in a severe storm and we barely noticed what was going on outside. We have been in much worse. I would rate the stability of this trailer an 8 out of 10. Been more than pleased with this trailer...

I think she is afraid the air mattress won't last and leak as most of the portable bring your own bed types have.

I confer with your flat mattress as opposed to the cushions. I picked up our trailer today for some camping this weekend. It's stored at the dealer so I asked him about the sofa bed. He seems to think we have a choice when we order but we will see.
Any other tips we needs to know before we order will be appreciated.
