Who would think that the ac, microwave and coffee maker would draw 34 amps.

Mod to replace microwave...

Just curious to know if anyone has replaced the factory standard microwave with a larger or same size convection unit?
If so what is involved.

Thanks for all the replies. We too pressed the 50 amp issue but was told Forest River would not make the mod due to the roof shape and room available.
We love the floor plan and are pretty picky as we are downsizing considerably from a 2014 Tiffin 36' RED.

We got our new 2016 27RLWS Emerald in April and had the same issue. Took it back to dealer and they replaced freeze switch(?). I also saw some mods on these forums about fixing up the venting. When I pulled the bottom cover off the AC unit, Styrofoam was partially blocking the air channels. I removed it and cleaned up the end returns with some cardboard to make the air flow smoother to the vents. (It helped a little, but I will definitely be upgrading to the 15K AC on the next TT.) I keep the AC main dumps open during the day, close the vent above the control panel, I put reflective insulation into the vents in the bedroom and LR and keep the shades down on the sun side. These things manage to get me a 10 degree difference.

On a real hot day our 15,000 btu could barely keep it cool. Poor thing ran all day. Of course there wasn't a spot of shade in the park. Otherwise it will freeze you out.

I'm thinking of adding slide toppers to my 27rlws. Never had them before so didn't order them with the trailer. I will be installing them myself. My question is what color does flagstaff/Rockwood put on. Looks like only black is available aftermarket. Is that what you all have from the factory with the emerald package? Thanks.

Our Emerald Edition came with the Slide Toppers installed. They are black, just like the pictures above. I have seen the non-Emerald Editions have cream colored slide toppers. I believe they were dealer installed.

Thanks for the quick reply! Good, as that is what is available. Would think a dark brown or tan would be nicer but not available. The slides on this Trailer are huge and sure catch a lot of debris and water.
