Subwoofer?
Does anyone know where the subwoofer is located on this model? I had the Genesis out because of Surround problems (they hadn't hooked up the centre and right front speaker) and I did see two wires leading to a subwoofer, but was unable to see or hear anything, even on a loud movie like "Twister". If I could just hear it I wouldn't have to pull out the Genesis again.

Middle cabinet below the TV, on the floor to the right.

On mine it's on the floor, to the left, behind a false wall. Showed no indication of working.
I pulled the Genesis, subwoofer wires were solid. I then pulled out the false wall, and guess what.... Subwoofer never hooked up. Wires just hanging there. Out came the butt connectors again.
Now it sounds right...

There is a bezel that goes around the unit. There are two small notches on the bottom. I used a thin carburetor screwdriver to pry very gently to pop the bezel off. If you are lucky it won't break. I apparently am not lucky.
There are four Robertson screws holding the Genesis in place. Once removed the unit will pull straight out. You will be amazed at the rats nest behind it.
On my unit, the Centre speaker, the right front speaker and the subwoofer were never connected. Makes one wonder!

Another assembly line crackhead just threw it there and expected your dealer to fix it. Better to fix it yourself. Check the day the TT was built. I'm wondering if there is some correlation to being Monday/Friday units. Ours was built on a Tuesday and so far, no real issues.

Man you get up early. Believe it or not, I had thought of this already. My date of manufacture was MONDAY April 7th (which coincidentally was my birthday). Though I'm sure manufacture time is much more than one day. I was told about ten days total.
My daughter was razzing me before delivery about the losers she saw building RV's on a program on Science Channel. The problem is from the top down.

Mopar has More Power
I assume you have the 5.7 engine. I have more suspension but am temporarily towing with a 20 yr old Draw-Tite with 750 lb bars. I am getting a little bounce on rough roads (in Canada they're all rough).
Waiting on my Equalizer 4 pt 1200, which should be here this week.
Powerwise, I can set my cruise at 100 km (62 mph) and she's turning 1800 RPM in 5th. Awesome.
Get a good WDH. I ordered Equalizer so I wouldn't have to drill the trailer frame.

Yes, we have the 5.7 V8. We have a weight differential hitch. We can't fly up a hill, usually take it easy through the mountain passes but the truck has plenty of power to pull it.

I get up at 4:45 for work. Get off at 3:15 pm. Our TT was built July 23 which was also my birthday. It was kind of a match and couldn't say no to buying thy one. It's been real good to is too.

We had a 2005 1500 Ram 4X4 with the 5.7 Hemi crew cab. Pulled it okay but like you say, no hurry up the mountain. Traded for the 2013 2500 Ram 4X4 with the 6.7 Cummings Crew Cab. Can drag it up the mountain with flat tires. Huge difference. Got two boys in the military (Navy/Coast Guard) on the east and west coasts. Need a bigger beast to make the travel easier.

New 27RLWS Emerald sitting in my driveway! I ended up with a Reese dual cam hitch and I kept an eye on the hitch installation while we were given a walk through. I was very happy that they did everything I had read about as to proper hitch setup. It was setup with a full water tank and I will probably travel with only 1/4 tank so loaded it will be close to correct ( I hope! ). Driving home it was one hand, four finger at 55 to 60 mph on two lane highway. Opposite direction semi's were a non event, couldn't feel them. Will need to wait to find out the effect of same direction passing semi's on 4 lane highways. This is with a 2014 Silverado 1500 with 5.3 V8 and tow package. Plenty of power for level roads, won't get into mountains till probably next year. Love the power stabilizers, worth every penny. No problems found on walk through, looking forward to first trip! Dan

Congratulations Dan. Welcome to the thread.
We love our 27RLWS. Lots of mods and information here on the thread from other owners. Sit down and read on.

Congratulations on buying a cool RV, but then we in this thread are biased!
I travel with about 1/3 water which works for us for bathroom handwashing and flushing, even when at the storage site. As soon as it drops I "top it up" to the 1/3 mark. Balance is fine with my loading. You will find that this RV tents to be nose-light with respect to the 12% tongue load rule so I like to put load to the front wherever possible.
One word of advice - when you are camping-ready take it to the scales and get the rig weighed (if you have no yet done so). Very important when pulling with a 1/2 ton. Then use those numbers as a basis for future loading. If way off, you may have to re-adjust and re-weigh. There is no substitute for good balance before relying on the WDH to do its job.
As for big rigs passing you in the same direction - you may sometimes feel a slight tug to the left as they approach your trailer's rear, depending on how close they are to you, and another tug as their rear clears the front of your trailer. Just be aware of this and be careful. With this truck 60 mph is my sweet spot.
Again, congratulations and be safe!

Thanks! I'm getting ready to put in the surge protector. Just thought I would check before cutting. The orange 10-2 is the main feed to the CB box, right?

Disregard. Went ahead and installed SP on that wire and all works well!

Equalizer 4pt settings
For some reason my private messaging is acting up. I wanted to ask Chuck, or anyone else with identical rigs to ours (Ram 2500 Crew 4x4, 27RLWS, and of course the Equalizer 4pt 1200) which settings they settled on - ball height, L brackets, number of washers, anything else of note.
Been using my 20 yr old Draw-Tite 750, but my new hitch will arrive Tuesday. Hoping it takes out the bounce.
Harv
