27RLWS dining slide tips when retracting

We have just winterized our 2014 Flagstaff 27RLWS for the first time. Everything went as planned until we retracted our dining room slide. Since we never move our "Cottage" this is the first time we have retracted the slides. The kitchen slide and the wardrobe slide came in fine. The Dining table slide is a different type and when it moved it tilted up severely. I stopped it midway and extended it back out then tried retracting again. I did this several times and each time the slide tipped upwards then dropped down then back up then back down (on one occassion it almost hit the ceiling). The slide would retract completely each time but the front side edge does not compress the horizontal rubber seal at the top. The rear side edge does compress the rubber. The front side edge is very tight to the trailer opening while the rear side edge has a big enough gap for the vertical seal flap to lay flat. I am thinking the slide is off center and needs to be realigned. I am concerned that it tips up and falls so severely. Has anyone else experienced the same condition when retracting. I am going to the dealer next week but would like to hear from other rver's if possible. This is a great forum and we have received much valued information over the summer. Thanks for any comments.

Our dinette slide will raise up (the outer wall) and then slide out. Just as its at its full extension the outside wall of the slide will rise up and seal in place. I can say (luckly) I have not experienced the situation you described with the inside of the slide rising up. Did you check under the slide to see if you could see something buckling as someone hit the slide in switch? It could be out of adjustment. WMoses is a great source for answers. He will chime in soon.

Mine tips up a bit when you start to bring it in but nothing like your describing but once started stays even until it's all the way in then it tips down again.

The operation of mine is as described by Chuck and Mark - just a slight angular motion in the vertical plane as the seal is made with the wall of the RV when either extending or retracting.

It would appear that your slideout is significantly out of alignment in two directions. Since it may still be under warranty you may want to consider taking it to the dealer ASAP top get that straightened out. I have no other insight on this, I am afraid.

Just an update to our slide problem. Firstly, again thankyou for your feedback on this Forum. I had emailed our dealer Prairie Sky on Sunday and the service manager called me back first thing Monday. He says this has happened before and perhaps the drive mechanism has jumped a gear. They are understandably busy this time of year winterizing rvs but will try to check out the slide on site and bring it in to their shop to fix over the winter if necessary. This is the only serious issue we have had with our 27RLWS since starting to use it last May. We use it as a stationary cottage and have been very pleased with the quality of build, floorplan, and emerald package styling. Visitors have really liked the layout and are amazed with the roominess and counterspace. Things like this happen but it is nice to have the help of Forum members and a dealer who appreciates and takes care of their customers.

On behalf of the rest of the folks, your welcome. We all have little issues we pass around to find out what everyone does to fix or mod it. Stay tuned.

By its (Flush Floor) design it Must lift on the leading edge to (Come In).The (Rub Pads) will determin the (Angle) in which it (Comes In). Your Vertical seal problem is probably due to a (Gear/Tooth). I have (Been to the Mountain) in regards to (Super Slides)! Youroo!!
