27rlws hot water switches

We just bought our 27rlws and discovered it has electric as well as gas water heating. We found one small on/off rocker switch on the water heater but were told there should be another switch besides the one on the master control panel that obviously turns on the gas heat. Does anyone have a clue about this? Many thanks.

This should fix you right up. This is a very common question and the cause of a lot of confusion:

That is the only 2 switches you have; Make sure tank is full of water before turning on the switch on the heater itself; If tank is not full and you turn on this switch you fry the element in a couple of seconds.

It's not really that amazing. Most employees of dealers are under paid temp help of sorts. They have no skill in repairing campers and most, if not all, don't own one. Therefore, a camper mechanic who falls within those parameters has little or no skin in the game. Frankly they just don't care. There is no standard or certification I know of similar to auto mechanics ASE or even better Harley dealership mechanics.
Our dealership had no idea of the upgrade of the Dometic 300 commode last year. I have watched them and often stop them in their tracks as they are about to bugger something up. Needless to say most of us on these forums fix just about everything ourselves.
