5-2 Day Programmable Honeywell Thermostat Upgrade
My 2014 Flagstaff 27RLWS travel trailer was outfitted from the factory with an analog Coleman-Mach thermostat. We found that it did not control the temperature swings above and below the set-point to our satisfaction. The RV warmed up too much before the AC kicked in and in the cooler weather, the temps This means that a thermostat upgrade was in my future.
See writeup here.

You are welcome. It gets its first test next trip when we have a 3000+ mile trip to CA from Houston. Will post updates to the web page after actual usage.
Got me a TST 507 TPMS system as well for the trip and that seems to work great.

I will be positing a write up, maybe even before I leave on the road trip. I need to resolve the flexing of the rubber valve stem before I do the write up.

5-2 Day Programmable Honeywell Thermostat Upgrade
From what I gather, changing the rubber valve stems out to steel valve stems is the best way to go.

See details here. I started a nice write up on my tablet until the browser refreshed and I lost the whole review. Maybe when I get the time again I will make another attempt.

Great mod...
Fyi, there is a Coleman Mach digital thermostat that can be bought on Amazon for about $80. It functions the same as the analog except with precise control...I put one in our trailer in 15 minutes, wired exactly the same...

Hmmm back to the original topic....we have the same wish; for better stats. We have the Honeywell programmable here at our S&B.
Just so happens my ex still runs and A/C business (and we're better friends now than we were while married, (Sneak and he call each other "ex husbands-in-law"...so...solid friendship there).....he still does all our A/C maintenance here.
I see a phone call in my near future.
"oh BTW, got a couple of Honeywells layin' around there in your shop?"

You mean this one? For the price you'd expect some sort of programming, but this is not a programmable unit. The Honeywell I used is programmable and the whole thing cost under $30. Wiring is not an issue now since that is described in the mod.

Don't get me wrong your mod is great. Just most people like easy. If I lived in my travel trailer the programming would be great. Not a necessary feature for part time use. Also for some time is money. That definitely holds true for me...anyway just wanted others to have options....

Don't worry, I did not think you were putting down my mod or anything, but were just advising of an out of the box alternative.
I also thought that straight digital with no programming would be all that I needed but then I thought if all the programs are the same then there is no difference. But if you want to save on electricity and cut down on the noise after you're asleep you have that option with the programmable. If it is cheaper then all the better. The Honeywell works with batteries so the programs are not lost after some storage time.
Curiously our factory thermostats have a place for 2AA batteries but none were installed. Must use a common thermostat housing for the digital and non digital Coleman Mach 'stats.

Nice write up. I used the Honeywell RTH2520B as it comes with different panels as I wanted to keep with the black of the old Coleman.

Man, I miss home (Canada) ... can't get that Honeywell in stores here, although had I know of it beforehand I could have bought it online I am sure. That is a nice looking unit.

Yeah, while I still miss Canada, I realised after posting the above that the thermostat was probably not for the Canadian market since the wrong pair of languages are on the package. Also, I was able to easily find it on the Internet. I was in the process of editing my post to that effect when I was distracted by a phone call and due to a browser refresh I lost the edits I was making.
