832IKBS ever changing tongue weight.

Been trying the different methods of getting an accurate tongue weight on our 832IKBS Flagstaff. Does anyone have a loaded tongue weight with empty water/holding tanks and full propane they might share. Would like to compare.
Thanks

Just got done trying that method. Scales read anywhere from 110 up to 305 on 6 or 7 attempts. Others say 10-15% of loaded weight of 8853 so I know the 110 is way off.

If it is varying that much, something is moving on the scales. Shouldn't vary over 5 or 10# ON the scale.

Here is an answer I got from member Orion when I asked the same question about a year ago

My '14 832IKBS has a tongue weight of about 1,175#'s loaded up. I used a Sherline tongue scale.

Hope this helps you as much as it did me.

Thanks. I was thinking from the different numbers I was getting that it was probably around 1200 lbs.

Is the obvious possible? Hit a certified truck scale and put the tongue jack on it's a scale pad to itself. Remember to level your trailer as well before it's read.

Yes, you'll be around 1200 lbs +\- 100 depending on how you are loaded.

Tongue Weight

Good Morning! This method works well. Weigh your tow vehicle ready for the trip (full of gas, all people and items in place) at a local truck stop (Love's, Flying J). Hook up the trailer as it will be taken on the trip and then weigh both vehicles as if they are a semi unit. The scales are set up with segmented platforms. You will have two weights. Subtract the trailer weight from the tow vehicle and you will have your tongue weight. It is a little intimidating at first to get in with the big boys but once you do it you will be set and can get your tongue weight anytime you want.
