8526RKWS Pin Weight??

Looking at the website and a brochure it seems to me that the pin weight for this model is high. The dry weight is 6366 and they have the pin weight as 1515.

If anyone has this model do you know what your pin weight is? There are several larger/heavier Flagstaff models with less pin weight.

Dry hitch for RK version is 1515 pounds and the RL version is 1200

The GVWR for the RK version is only 8778 while the RL version is 9144.

Look at the slide locations. The RL has TWO slides aft of the CG while the RK version has one large slide with half over the main wheels.

The moment arm for the heavy slide aft configuration in the RL version moves the king pin weight off the king pin. That is not the case in the RK version. That weight stays on the king pin.

herk7769 - thanks for the response. I never gave it any thought that the actual slides would affect the weight. The 8528RK has the same slide, but it is a foot or two longer overall than the 8526RK.

On your RL does the television swivel?

Yes, it can be angled to the Sofa or the Dinette. I wish it also angled downward so you could lie on the floor and watch TV as well, but it does not.
