As part of my new camper purchase, I requested a 3rd A/C with heat strip. They missed the heat strip part and ended up having to order it after the fact. This particular model, it IS just a plug in of the heat strip module and then a replacement thermostat (both ends- the part that interfaces with the camper wiring and the thermostat itself).
But, I've read that there are some models that it isn't as easy.
If I were you, I would find out the manufacturer of your air conditioner and contact them with your serial number to find out what it takes.

That's what I'll do. I believe that the living area has the heat strips but the bedroom does not, so I will look at the manuals tonight or look at the unit itself. I would rather run the central heat and lay off the propane usage, afterall, when you are paying b the night and have electric expenses included, why not use the central heat! LOL
