Advice need on adding 2nd air conditioner 2012 Flagstaff 8528RKWS

Our 13.5 a/c is not keeping the bedroom area cool. We want to add a 2nd a/c but Forrest River said we couldn't put another one on the roof. Has anyone added a 2nd one to their roof and if so what brand/weight/location/etc. Your help is appreciated.

I believe that Rockwood started offering the optional bedroom AC sometime in the 2013 model year and that I understand that the roof required additional bracing in that location. The other problem is that you need 50A service to run 2 ACs. You could upgrade to a 15K unit and run with the existing 30A service.

FWIW we also have the same floorplan and a 13.5K AC. I've found that running the AC fan on manual instead of auto and using the ceiling fan distributes the cooled air better.

15K unit

We ordered our 829FKSS TT with the 15K AC unit and it keeps up with most hot days. Above 90 degrees, I usually employ a small oscillating fan to help circulate air.
